ZBrush training (in 3D)

November 15th, 2008

Recently I started playing around with ZBrush, doing some really basic stuff. Here is my first object sculpted 100% using Zbrush’s Sphere 3D:

That’s how it looks while sculpting on ZBrush, but of course that alone doesn’t really look all that good, so I decided to import the mesh and create a displacement map as well. I used Vray as the render engine in 3DSMax:

School Proyect 1 (in 3D)

I was done with this since a long time ago but forgot to update (as I was kinda busy). Anyway, here it is!. You can see the beginning of it all in the entry right below this one.

Current project W.I.P image (in 3D)

July 14th, 2008

I’m doing already my project for school (started 3d modeling today, 3 hours ago) and I’ll have until september to finish it.

The model itself is basically a modified Warhammer 40k Space Marine without the torso armor nor the helmet. I also modified the basic armor a bit, as I don’t really want to make a carbon copy of the Space Soldiers. Just the ‘mood’ :)

UPDATE: Leg decal modified.

Yet another American Comic character!?!? (in Drawings)

July 9th, 2008

Yes, yet another character. For the sake of training.

This time it took about 40 minutes to draw (stupid water…) and about 20 minutes to do all the photoshop stuff (stupid water…). Don’t mind the silly name nor the fact that he has no face..

American Comic character (in Drawings)

July 8th, 2008

Recently we started learning how to draw characters similar to the ones that show up in American Comics (such as X-Men or Spiderman). Why we learn that? Basically because of the muscles. American Comic usually has pretty good representations of the muscles of the human body.

Anyway, the teacher asked us to create a brand-new character and I decided to make a hero being a mix between human and mantis. I have some other designs not scanned yet, but here is one sketch I made today during a class break in about 3 minutes and colored in the next class’s break (we were using computers, so I just scanned the drawing and painted it in photoshop, heh..)

Students’ residential building project (in 3D)

June 9th, 2008

Actually this is not my project, but a friend’s one and I decided to, following the same rules, do it too.

It wasn’t easy to place 40 rooms on a 30m x 6m building, but hey.. . Rendered with VRay and modeled in 3DSMax. Total time around 35 minutes (including rendering time).

Metropolis Project Video (in 3D)

March 29th, 2008

Rendered in low quality because the rendertime would have gone crazy if I rendered it with all the settings on. I used the Scanline instead of Vray, wich I used for my pics. I also placed just two omni lights so everything is lighted up.

A few new buildings included! I know I’m working very slow on this project, but I have some other things to do meanwhile…

Metropolis Project (in 3D)

March 2nd, 2008

I just started this RIGHT now. I only have one building but I will keep posting the new renders as I keep working on it on my free time :).

The name is Metropolis Project. The japanese subtitle is because I plan on continue this once I enter the design school next month (until now, I have never studied design, everything I know is just practicing by myself).

Anyway, here it goes:
